The Chinese have created a robot fish that eats microplastics. It is hoped that the robot will be able to help clean up the world’s polluted waters. 

The half inch robots are able to suck up materials in shallow water. The researchers are working on the robots having the ability to collect microplastics in deep ocean and sea water. 

If the robot fish is eaten by other fish, it can be digested by the fish because it is biocompatible, according to the scientists. 

The fish is able to absorb pollutants and fix itself if damaged, and it can swim almost three times its body length per second.
