Three separate jury trials will commence on Tuesday in Austin, Texas, to decide how much compensation should be given by far-right conspiracy, Infowars broadcaster Alex Jones to the families of victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting.
Jones has been spreading conspiracy theories for years, saying that the Sandy Hook shooting was a fake government op and that the families of the victims participated in the hoax.
In the first trial, parents of Jesse Lewis, who died at six-years-old in the shooting, will testify about the emotional torment they experienced from Jones’ broadcasts and lies. The family has suffered through years of threats and abuse.
The families of 10 victims won lawsuits against Jones in 2020. In the trials, juries will decide about monetary damages.
