Scottsdale, Arizona had a rough Friday with severe storms that downed power lines, and trapped motorists.
Several people were rescued, including a woman who required rescue from a helicopter after being stranded on a wall in a park.
Power lines were knocked over across Scottsdale Road north of Cactus during the storm, closing the road in both directions, according to the Scottsdale Fire Department.
People were trapped in their vehicles. The situation was made worse because the power lines were active and if someone trapped inside a vehicle tried to escape, they could have been electrocuted.
Victims were able to be removed from their cars without incident, although officials urge that anybody who experiences a similar predicament should remain inside their car until help arrives,
