In a tragic turn of events, ex-NFL running back, Alex Collins, lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Miami, Florida, at the age of 28.
The incident unfolded as Collins, on his Suzuki Motor GSX-R600K, struck a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban SUV. This impact caused him to be ejected through the vehicle’s window, and he was declared dead on site. Notably, Collins was set to celebrate his 29th birthday on August 26.
Collins entered the NFL spotlight when the Seattle Seahawks drafted him in 2016. He then transitioned to the Baltimore Ravens, playing there for two seasons.
Collins’ love for Irish dancing, an activity he employed for enhancing agility, was well known. Sharing memories of Collins, his former teammate from Baltimore, Robert Griffin III, posted a video of him dancing. Russell Wilson, who once shared the field with Collins, paid his homage on social media platforms.
Expressions of sympathy were shared by several institutions including the NFL, Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks, and Arkansas Razorbacks. Kelli Masters, who represented Collins, remembered him for his infectious optimism.
