On December 13, 2023, a 30-year-old gospel singer from Brazil died suddenly while performing live in Feira de Santana, Brazil, leaving fans and the music industry in a state of disbelief.
The concert, which was being live-streamed, took place at a concert venue in Feira de Santana, a northeastern Brazilian city.
Pedro Henrique was at a religious concert when he unexpectedly collapsed on stage, an incident that was captured on camera and seen by an in-person audience.
At the time of the collapse, Henrique, renowned for his dynamic stage presence, was performing his hit ‘Vai Ser Tão Lindo.’
As Henrique moved towards the stage’s edge, engaging with the crowd, he suddenly fell, leading to swift intervention from those in attendance and band members.
He was hurried to a nearby medical facility, where he was pronounced dead. His record label, Todah Music, later confirmed that he died of a heart attack.
Henrique is survived by his spouse, Suilan Barreto, a gospel influencer, and their daughter, Zoe, born October 19. Barreto had not yet commented publicly on the matter as of Thursday.
Henrique’s enthusiasm for music started from a young age. His professional career took off in 2015 when he began sharing his music on YouTube. He was initially part of a local band and recorded the album ‘Grande é o Senhor.’
A wake and funeral for Henrique are planned in Porto Seguro, Bahia, where he was born. His recent single “Medley: Levanta / Não Fica Assim / Descendência (Ao Vivo)” was released after his death.
