Harry Savage, a 26-year-old ex-drama student and reality television personality, was discovered deceased in his Putney, south-west London home on July 19, 2024. Paramedics arrived at approximately 9:15 a.m., however, Savage was declared dead on arrival.
Savage gained fame through his stint on Channel 4’s reality series “Hunted” in 2019, where he was featured with his brother Frank.
A male suspect in his 30s was detained by police in relation to Savage’s death, which is being treated as an “unexpected” incident. The suspect has been released on bail pending further investigation.
An autopsy and toxicology examinations are currently underway to establish the cause of death.
Savage first came into the public eye during the fourth season of “Hunted” on Channel 4. The 2019 reality show features contestants attempting to elude capture by a team of professional trackers. Savage took part in the show with his elder brother Frank, sharing their personal losses during the course of the series. The brothers had recently lost their mother to dementia, and their father had suffered a fatal heart attack when Harry was only 15.
On the 24th day of the competition, Harry was captured in Birmingham city center, Alabama, and Frank was apprehended just before the thrilling helicopter extraction finale, narrowly missing out on the $131,000 prize.
At the time of his death, Savage was serving as the head of partnerships for the dating platform Thursday. His employer paid homage to him, emphasizing his vibrant personality and positive energy. “It is with great sadness that we share news of the tragic and unexpected passing of our dear friend and Thursday colleague, Harry Savage,” stated the company on LinkedIn. “Harry had played a central role at the heart of our team heading up global partnerships since 2021, and all who knew him would have seen his high energy, positivity, and colorful personality in full flow.”
Friends and colleagues have paid tribute to Savage, describing him as a “beautiful soul” and a “sweet angel.” One friend noted, “What a sad day. RIP Harry Savage. One of the most beautiful souls on this earth. Rest well sweet angel.” Another expressed, “I am lost for words… one of the nicest guys I’ve ever had the privilege to know.”
Earlier this year, the Savage family was involved in a legal dispute with their uncle over a farm in Sussex valued at approximately $1.3 million, which had been in the family for three generations. Harry’s brother Frank successfully defended the family’s claim to the farm, which is now co-owned by him and his three siblings. The court battle added to the family’s challenges following the deaths of both parents.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into Savage’s death, providing support to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
