Prince Harry and Meghan Trashed by Fans For VIP Appearance

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became the subject of intense online discussion after attending the fourth game of the 2025 World Series at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday, October 28. The couple was seated in the front row, wearing Los Angeles Dodgers caps, as the team faced off against Canada’s Toronto Blue Jays.

Residing in Southern California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Harry and Meghan were positioned in prime seats behind home plate, directly in front of Dodgers legend Sandy Koufax. Sporting blue Dodgers caps and white shirts, they supported the Los Angeles team in a game where the Blue Jays emerged victorious with a 6-2 win, leveling the series at two games each.

Criticism focused on Harry’s decision to back the American team over the Canadian franchise, especially given his status as fifth in line to the British throne. King Charles III, Harry’s father, is the official head of state for Canada, one of the 56 nations within the Commonwealth that maintain historical ties to the United Kingdom.

Cody Welton, deputy chief of staff for Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s office, voiced disappointment on social media, highlighting that Harry’s father is the king of Canada and labeling the Dodgers cap choice as “absolutely shameful.” Andrew MacDougall, former communications director for Prime Minister Stephen Harper, criticized the decision as unwise, suggesting that the son of the king of Canada should support the Canadian team. He also noted that it could have been a more interesting media narrative if Harry had supported the opposing team from his wife.

Ben Woodfinden, a former communications director for Conservative Party of Canada Leader Pierre Poilievre, accused the couple of avoiding responsibility. Independent journalist Chris Tomlinson questioned whether betraying the king’s dominion or cheering for the Dodgers was worse. Alyn Kenji Marsh, who serves as an executive assistant for an Alberta member of parliament, commented on the irony of the king’s son wearing a Dodgers hat.

Dan Arnold, chief strategy officer at Ottawa-based Pollara Strategic Insights and a former pollster for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, mentioned the potential for Harry’s elder brother to capitalize on the situation. According to Arnold, “William is one insta post in a Jays cap away from the ultimate troll job.”

Critics also targeted Meghan for seemingly distancing herself from her Canadian connections. The duchess resided in Toronto, Ontario, for several years while filming “Suits,” from which she departed upon her engagement to Harry in 2017. Social media users circulated undated photos of Meghan in Blue Jays apparel from her time in Toronto. Tara Greene from Toronto accused Meghan of betrayal, noting her rise to fame and wealth in Toronto, which eventually led to meeting Harry.

Sarnia, Ontario, Mayor Mike Bradley joined the discussion through his personal social media, making a sarcastic comment about the couple’s public relations strategy concerning Canadian baseball fans nationwide.

A lip-reading expert provided insight into the couple’s conversation during the event. Nicola Hickling informed RadarOnline that after waving to fans, Meghan told an aide she needed to leave soon and was expecting something. She asked Harry if anyone was present, to which he reportedly replied that he could not see. Meghan then playfully pointed out someone to Harry, commenting that the experience was enjoyable.

The couple was among approximately 53,000 attendees at the game, which also drew other celebrities, including Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber. The game, which lasted six hours and 39 minutes, became the second-longest MLB postseason game ever. Sydney Sweeney attended Game 4 with professional boxer Christy Martin, whom she portrays in an upcoming film set for release on November 7, 2025.

Meghan’s affinity for the Dodgers is rooted in more than just residing in Los Angeles. The team represents her hometown, and she has been seen wearing Dodgers caps on various occasions, including during the California wildfires earlier this year. Her longstanding support for the team is well-documented, with a website dedicated to her style featuring different colored versions of the cap.

The outing took place shortly after Meghan launched her first holiday collection for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, featuring items such as hand-poured candles, artisanal fruit spreads, golden California honey, and celebratory wines, designed for gifting and enhancing occasions with elegance and warmth.

While this was Harry’s initial World Series game, he and Meghan had previously attended an MLB regular-season game in London between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees in 2019, marking the first-ever MLB regular-season game played in Europe.
