Sanjeev and Sadhana Prasad, a married couple in India, are not happy. After using all their savings to pay for their son’s expensive wedding, and funding his training to be a pilot (they spent $65k), they are not getting a return on their investment.

They want a grandchild. After six years of marriage, apparently their son and his wife are not delivering.

The couple is suing their son and daughter-in-law for $650,000 on the grounds of “mental harassment.”

The terms are the grandchild must be born within a year.

After sending his son to the US for his pilot training, the son, Shrey Sagar, returned to India and his parents supported him financially. After he got a job as a pilot, a marriage was arranged in 2016, and the parents paid for a luxury wedding, a limousine, and an expensive honeymoon.

AK Srivastava, the couple’s lawyer, said the couple sued for the money “because of mental cruelty. It is a dream of every parent to become a grandparent. They had been waiting for years to become grandparents.”
The father told The Times of India: “My son and daughter-in-law are not thinking about us at all. We made him a pilot with great enthusiasm and happiness and spent our life’s savings on him, thinking he’ll give us the happiness of being grandparents someday. It’s been six years and it feels like we have nothing left in our lives.”

Will the young couple deliver?
