DNA identification of her murdered parents has helped a 42-year-old Oklahoma woman, previously known as “Baby Holly,” to reconnect to her biological family, according to a press release from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office.
Over 40 years ago, in 1981, a couple was murdered in Texas. Their infant girl, “Baby Holly,” had vanished, apparently kidnapped.
The parents, Tina Gail Linn Clouse and Harold Dean Clouse Jr., were found dead in a wooded Houston area, but their bodies were not identified until 2021. Upon being informed about the positive genetic identification by Identifinders International, family members started searching for the infant, Holly Marie Clouse.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the woman, now known by another name, was notified about her history on Tuesday at her workplace, and told about her family, who were excited to reconnect on Zoom.
She had been adopted as a baby but what happened after the murders is still a mystery.
“Finding Holly is a birthday present from heaven since we found her on (her father’s) birthday,” said Holly’s biological grandmother Donna Casasanta. “I prayed for more than 40 years for answers and the Lord has revealed some of it … we have found Holly.” The investigation into Holly’s parents’ death is still ongoing. No arrests have been made.
