Not all men can get away with it, but this man did. And he may be starting a new fashion trend.
Maybe it was the sweltering heat that made him do it. The actor says he likes to be comfortable.
Brad Pitt wore a skirt to the premiere of his new action blockbuster, “Bullet Train,” at the Zoo Palast theater, on Tuesday in Berlin.
He is on an international tour promoting the new movie, with others in the cast – Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson, and Brian Tyree Henry.
The actor, looking great at 58, was photographed wearing a loose linen brown skirt, loose linen brown jacket, pink linen shirt with the top buttons undone, a pair of perfect, black Stylmartin motorcycle boots, and sunglasses.
His costume showed off his multiple tattoos, including a rhinoceros and a skull.
“Men will be wearing skirts by next summer. That’s my prediction and proclamation. The film answers to both genders. We were going for realism and Greeks wore skirts all the time then,” he told British Vogue.
No stranger to experimenting with fashion, in recent years Pitt has gotten bolder, embracing brands like Comme des Garçons, Rick Owens and The Elder Statesmen. He is collaborating on a collection with the Italian designer Brioni, which will be called BP Signature. It will feature Pitt’s favorite styles. He also is a silent partner in the shirt company, God’s True Cashmere.
His new movie is based on the Greek epic poem “The Iliad.” (Some older people may remember this from high school.) In the film, Pitt wore a leather skirt.
It’s not the first time Pitt posed in women’s clothing. In a 1999 Rolling Stone cover shoot, he wore dresses.
“Bullet Train” will be in theaters on August 5.
