#1: Trump and Witness Tampering:

The seventh live, public hearing of the House Select Committee Investigating the January 6 Insurrection, explosive in all its testimony showing Trump’s premeditated efforts to overthrow the 2020 election, ended with a bombshell. Rep. Liz Cheney, the vice chairwoman of the committee, said that Trump has allegedly engaged in witness tampering with a yet publicly unidentified person. The details will be presumably revealed in the next hearing.  In her coming attractions, Cheney said, “After our last hearing, President Trump tried to call a witness in our investigation, a witness you have not yet seen in these hearings. That person declined to answer or respond to President Trump’s call, and instead alerted their lawyer to the call. Their lawyer alerted us. And this committee has supplied that information to the Department of Justice.”

#2:  Elon Musk vs. Twitter:

In another chapter of Elon Musk’s stormy relationship with Twitter, Twitter has sued the billionaire, hoping to force him to follow through with his deal to buy the social media company, which he has been trying to get out. On Friday, Musk told Twitter’s lawyers that he wants to terminate the $44 billion deal.

Musk accused Twitter of withholding data he requested on bots and spam accounts. Twitter’s lawyers countered with a letter saying that Musk’s attempted deal breaking was “invalid and wrongful,” and demanded that Musk go through with the deal.

#3: London Flight Cutbacks:

London’s Heathrow airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. Now it’s asking the airlines to cut down outgoing traffic from the airport, limiting passenger traffic to 100,000 tickets sold per day, until September 11.

There are too many staff shortages, including pilot shortages, in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The increased passenger travel in summer and the staff shortages are making air travel unreliable, causing delays and cancellations.

Heathrow’s solution is to cut back flights.

If you have already booked a flight, you should watch for notifications from your airline, and keep an eye out for possible cancellations or changes in your flight, in emails or texts from the carrier.

If you don’t have a ticket, you may have difficulty getting one, as the airlines flying out of Heathrow have been asked to stop selling summer tickets for empty seats.

#4: Shocking Uvalde Texas Video:

New shocking video released on Tuesday shows police running away from the gunshots in Uvalde, Texas while 19 children and two teachers were dying in the classroom.

The 77-minute video shows police entering the school, but then lingering, instead of going after the gunman.

They are seen fleeing down the hallway when shots were fired in their direction.

Armed officers are seen walking around, talking to each other and making phone calls, when they should have been trying to stop the shooter.

The police finally breached the classroom, at the last minute of the video.

The footage was taken from school security cameras.

#5: Hudson River Boat Capsizes

In a tragic accident on the Hudson River in NYC, a 48-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy died when their 27-foot private boat capsized near Pier 79 on Tuesday. Ten other passengers were also thrown into the river, frantically screaming for help. The survivors were saved by a nearby ferry. Coast guard, fire department personnel and helicopters were seen at the scene.

The cause of the accident was not certain, but witnesses said the river was choppy and busy with summer traffic of Jet Skis and boats.
