2: Mass Shooting in Denmark:
A shooter killed three people Sunday inside one of Scandinavia’s biggest shopping centers, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Authorities filed charges of murder and attempted murder against a 22-year-old Danish man, who apparently acted alone and randomly shot at victims. The suspect was carrying a rifle and a knife, obtained illegally. A 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, both Danes, and a 47-year-old Russian man, were killed. Four more were hospitalized but are in stable condition. Others were hurt in a stampede while people were fleeing the scene. Mass shootings are rare in Denmark. The last shooting that made headlines was in 2015. The Copenhagen shooting occurred a week after a shooting in Copenhagen’s neighbor, Norway, where a man killed two people and wounded more than 20 during an LGBTQ festival.
3: Alpine Glacier Avalanche:
A huge chunk broke off an Alpine glacier in Italy, bombarding hikers with ice, snow and rock on a popular hiking trail. Six people were killed and at least nine were injured. There appear to be other people missing. The search had to be halted due to the danger of another avalanche. The glacier, in the Dolomite mountains in northeastern Italy, is a popular ski location in the winter. Scientists say that the glacier has been melting away rapidly during recent years. They predict that in 30 years the glacier is likely to be completely gone.
4: Shoot-Out in Texas:

The four wounded are expected to survive. The gunman, identified as 28-year-old Edward Freyman, shot himself. He was found with a military-style rifle and a handgun. The two victims, Collin Davis, 33, and Amber Tsai, 32, allegedly were known by the shooter.
5: Heat Wave Across US:
A dozen states are under a heat advisory stretching from the mid-South to the Mississippi River Valley and into portions of the Plains. Many areas in the US will experience temperatures in the 90s and what “feels like” temperatures in the 100’s. Even Chicago is forecast to have temperatures feeling like 110 degrees over the next day, as temperatures rise. Heat is dangerous and it is important to stay cool and know the signs of heat illness. There are also threats of severe weather conditions, including thunderstorms in Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Madison, as well as other areas. The main severe threats will be hail and gusty winds, but there’s also the possibility of an isolated tornado.
