School officials will be voting on whether to fire Uvalde School Police Chief Pete Arredondo, following the disastrous response to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School that killed 19 children and two teachers.
The Uvalde school board meeting is scheduled for Saturday.
Parents of children killed in the shooting are demanding that officials fire Arredondo.
At least 19 officers waited for over an hour outside the school’s classrooms as the gunman continued his rampage, until a Border Patrol tactical team charged and killed the shooter.
The Texas State Legislature cited “systemic failures” and poor leadership contributed to the death toll, which might have been prevented.
