Governor Gavin Newsom of California is planning to sign legislation that would give a $10,000 reward, plus legal fees, to residents who carry out a successful lawsuit against illegal gun makers.
The aim is to get rid of illegal gun dealers.
Anyone who successfully sues against dealers who import, distribute, manufacture or sell assault-style weapons, .50-caliber rifles, guns without serial numbers or parts that can be used to build firearms that are banned in the state of California, will be eligible for the reward.
Gov. Newsom will sign legislation on a slew of bills with firearm restrictions, including gun advertisements to minors, more restrictions on unregistered guns, and a 10-year ban on gun licenses to anyone convicted of child or elder abuse.
