Actress Anne Heche crashed her Mini Cooper into a Los Angeles last week.
Heche was hospitalized and at first it was reported that she was in stable condition, however, her condition downgraded to critical, and as of Monday’s update she was in a coma and on respiratory support. She died on Friday, August 12 of her burn injuries.
The crash was reported shortly before 11 a.m. Friday at a two-story house in the 1800 block of South Walgrove Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Heche, officially identified as the driver behind the wheel, was trapped inside the car as flames from the vehicle began spreading to the house.
The woman, Lynne Mishele, whose home was hit, escaped injuries but her home was destroyed after the crash caused a massive fire.
A neighbor of Mishele said that Heche’s car stopped about “two feet away from where she [Mishele] was sitting.”
The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating the crash and said that bloodstream analysis revealed Heche was high on cocaine when the incident happened, after speeding at over 90 mph through the streets.
