Hikers Call for Take-Out on Top of Japan’s Mount Fuji

It’s amazing what some people will do in this day and age when they are hungry.

It’s also amazing what some people will do for a tip.

Some hikers were climbing up Japan’s Mount Fuji when they must have run out of snacks. It is assumed they had cell service, because while on the mountain, they called the food delivery company, Gojek, and ordered dinner.

Was it just a gimmick to get internet coverage? A video was taken of a bunch of hikers and their equipment waiting at the top of the mountain, and a deliveryman hiking for six hours up an active volcano to get what hopefully was more than a 15% tip.

The man can be seen in his bright green jacket carrying plastic bags of take-out food, smiling and waving to the camera, as he handed the hikers the bags.

The hiking group had a view better than any restaurant, from Japan’s tallest peak at around 12,388 feet above sea level.

Was the video a commercial for the delivery service? Or Mt. Fuji?

It’s not the first time this happened. Seems anything that can happen will happen. On Saturday, August 20, another delivery person from another takeout company, climbed the volcano with Domino’s pizza.

Seems like nowadays, getting away in nature, isn’t what it used to be.
