A 59-year-old woman was walking on Seventh Avenue near West 42nd Street, near Times Square, in “broad daylight” on Sunday morning at around 10 a.m.

A man with a box cutter blade slashed her hand in an unprovoked attack, according to police.

NYPD shared video that shows the suspect behind the woman, who was pulling a shopping cart. He lunged the blade into the woman’s hand, saying nothing.

The woman was transported to Bellevue Hospital and is in stable condition. She suffered a deep cut on her right hand and a less serious wound on her right forearm.

The suspect is still at large, having fled from the scene before police arrived.

The attack was caught on video and is being circulated online. Police are looking for information to identify the attacker.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
