US Air Force Launches Unarmed Minuteman III Missile To Show Nuclear Readiness

On September 7, at 1:13 a.m. PST, the Global Strike Department of the United States Air Force fired an unarmed Minuteman III Ballistic Missile from the Vandenberg Base located in California, with three test re-entry vehicles, to display the preparation of American nuclear power, and to generate more trust in how dangerous and efficient the American nuclear program is.

The testing is periodically done to reassure our allies and show the world that the nuclear deterrent capability of the United States is secure, trustworthy, and capable of countering dangers to US and our allies’ security. These tests have taken place more than three hundred times previously and have no connection to the world’s current affairs.

Re-entry vehicles from the ICBM have covered a distance of about 4,200 miles to the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. All of these launches confirm how precise and dependable the ICBM defense system is, and offer vital information to maintain a safe, and efficient nuclear system.

The Pentagon has announced a new segment of Minuteman ICBM strikes to display the efficient nuclear system of the US.

This ICBM launch will evaluate and verify the efficiency and readiness of the system, according to Air Force Brigadier General Pat Ryder, who made the initial announcement of the missile test on Tuesday from the Pentagon.

He informed reporters that the launch is a routine test, which was scheduled way back and is in alignment with prior tests.

According to treaties, the United States must inform the Russian authorities before a test is initiated, according to Ryder. He also pointed out that The International Code of Conduct against Ballistic Missile Proliferation was followed appropriately during the launches.

The missile test comes when worries about nuclear safety have increased due to the Russian-Ukraine conflict and deteriorating ties between the West and Moscow.

Russia has clearly stated that it will not hold back if the US becomes more invested in the Ukraine war. They have also stationed Russian forces at the Zaporizhzhia Power Plant in Ukraine. The Russians have announced that they will fight fire with fire if they have to.

Due to the early invasive activities of Russia, the power plant has constantly been under a bombing threat from Russia.

The Defense Secretary of the United States, Lloyd Austin, stated that another Minuteman III launch had been scheduled earlier this year, in March. But as tensions were high during that time between Russia and Ukraine, the launch was postponed to avoid any problems.
