Harry and Meghan’s $100 Million Netflix Series Delayed For Now

Granted, we’re in the 21st so-called “civilized” world, but students of history will tell you it’s not a good idea to be at odds with the King.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, are in talks with Netflix to edit their controversial Netflix docuseries, that will delay the release of the much-anticipated production until next year.

They apparently want to make a few changes. Good thinking.

Since stepping down from their duties in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan live in Santa Barbara, California in a $14 million mansion with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

The couple signed a $100 million deal with Netflix for a docuseries they have been working on. Not surprisingly, it has been causing a lot of distress among members of the royal family, along with other things Harry and Meghan have said and done.

Originally, the docuseries was supposed to air in December, after Season 5 of the award-winning TV series, The Crown, which depicts the late Queen Elizabeth’s reign as a monarch since the 1940s.

Sources now claim that Harry and Meghan want to edit some parts that negatively portray King Charles III, the Queen Consort, and Prince William and Kate. These edits could delay release until the middle, or later, of next year.

Another source claimed that the Duke and Duchess are stalling its release until next year, casting doubt on whether the docuseries will be released at all.

Some Netflix insiders said that the show was finished and ready to stream at the end of the year and that the Netflix CEO was under a lot of pressure about the show.

In related news, Harry also wanted to tone down his autobiography that will be published by Penguin Random House, because he thought that it might be too harsh, and it could cause further strife with the royal family, especially after the Queen’s death.

Prince Harry signed a $38.8 million book deal with Penguin Random House for a four-part book series. The memoirs have already been written and edited, and were ready to be released in November. However, it is said that Harry wants to make a few changes to the book, as he was uncomfortable with how it would be perceived, especially so soon after the Queen’s death and his father, King Charles III ascending to the throne.

There might not be much that Harry can do about the memoirs because he has already received around $20 million from the publisher. Prince Harry already had to rewrite the books after editors at the publishing company thought they focused too much on mental health issues.

Meghan Markle spoke to reporters last month and hinted that her romantic story with Harry is one of the subjects discussed in the Netflix docuseries. She said that their relationship, which spans five years, was one of the topics that they had kept private and had not shared with the world.

Archewell Productions, Prince Harry and Meghan’s production company, signed a deal with Netflix in 2020 worth $100 million, and the docuseries was expected to be the first release from the company.

The couple could also be working on a historical documentary about their love life. Although people are always interested in the couple starting a reality show, Meghan and Harry have always said they will not work on a reality show about their lives.

They are already living a reality show about their lives.
