The royal website just got a royal update, and along with it, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got what appears to be a “demotion”.
The royal family’s website needed an update and revisit after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September.
Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have been moved down to the end of the list of royals, just above the disgraced Duke of York, Prince Andrew (lucky for them), and below the profiles of senior members of the royal family. Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are notably at the top.
Not a great place in the list to be, but better than Prince Andrew. (He has a pretty bad reputation, in case you haven’t been paying attention.)
Previously, Harry and Meghan were listed just below Prince William and Kate.
Prince William and Kate Middleton, now the Prince and Princess of Wales, (which used to be King Charles’ title) rose up in the ranks on the list. This is not surprising, as Prince William is the next in line for the throne.
As for Archie and Lilibet, Harry and Meghan’s kids, a decision will be made whether or not they will be able to use their royal family status. The pair want the children to be allowed to use their prince and princess titles, so they can be entitled to a “certain level of royal security.” The final decision will be made by grandpa, King Charles III. Considering all the publicity and paparazzi that surrounds Harry and his family, it shouldn’t be a tough decision.
The update might be the result of King Charles’ plan to streamline the monarchy, giving focus to those who are actively working with him for his causes.
Harry and Meghan decided to step down from their royal duties in 2020, which groupies called the “Megxit.”
Harry and Meghan participated in the events leading up to and during the Queen’s funeral. In spite of meeting Prince William and Kate Middleton for the first time since they left for California in 2020, it is unclear if any relationship amendments were made.
Notably, their upcoming $100 million series with Netflix has been postponed. Meanwhile, maybe they can clear the air.
If not… how low can they go?
