Prince Harry’s long-awaited memoir, a book which has been hugely anticipated and its contents subjected to a lot of speculation around the world, will officially be released early next year on January 10.

Penguin Random House released the cover, which revealed that the book is titled “Spare.” The publishing company hailed the book as one filled with raw and candid honesty, with a lot of insight, self-examination, revelations, and wisdom that Prince Harry has found through the power of love over grief.

In their press release, Penguin Random House took us back to when Princes Harry and Williams’ mother, Princess Diana, died, and the two young boys walked behind her coffin in full view of the world. As people across the world watched her funeral with overwhelming sorrow, they couldn’t help but think about the two princes and their grief. Many people wondered what their lives would be like in the future.

“Spare” is Prince Harry’s way of sharing his story with the world.

The book’s title, “Spare,” is a direct reference to a popular phrase used to refer to royal siblings, “the heir and the spare.” It means that the royal siblings were spare heirs to the one in direct succession to the throne. Harry was a spare to his older brother, Prince William, the next heir to the British throne.

When they were still young, Harry was the next in line after Prince William, but he was pushed down after William and Kate had children.

Since the book’s announcement in July 2021, royal experts, critics, supporters, and the general public have speculated on what juicy secrets Prince Harry might reveal about being a royal. It has become one of the top books on all bestseller lists since the announcement on Thursday, as people cannot wait to get their hands on it.

Following in his mother’s footsteps, Prince Harry has not shied away from talking about his life as a royal in public. This issue was made clear in March 2021 when the prince and his wife, Meghan Markle, sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey and talked about Meghan’s unhappy life in England. The couple spoke to Oprah about Meghan’s depression and how Harry feared for her life if they stayed in England.

After her divorce, Princess Diana and author Andrew Morton released her memoir “Diana: Her True Story” in 1992. The book revealed the unhappy life she lived while married to now King Charles III and described the circumstances leading to their divorce.

According to Prince Harry, when he and Meghan stepped back from official duties and moved to the US in 2020, the family cut Harry off financially. Since then, they have launched several initiatives, including their nonprofit, Archewell Foundation.

Prince Harry will donate some of the proceeds from the memoir to several charities, including 300,000 Euros to WellChild, where he was a patron for over 15 years. The Prince has already donated $1.5 million to Sentebale, an organization that supports children and youth affected by HIV/AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana.

The book was initially supposed to be released in November of this year, but it was pushed to January next year after the Queen died in September. The push sparked rumors that the Prince was getting cold feet about releasing it and wanted to make some edits so it would not be too damning for the remaining royals.
