In spite of her recent bad news, Netflix show “Dead To Me” star Christina Applegate still wants to continue shooting for the final season of the show, which is very popular. She said she feels obligated to her co-star Linda Cardellini, and to Liz Feldman, who created the show.
Applegate decided to share her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis on August 10, 2021 with two tweets on Twitter.
“No. We’re going to do it, but we’re going to do it on my terms,” Applegate told the New York Times. With her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, the show took a five-month break. She said that aside from the physical recovery, she needed time to process and accept the major changes that were about to happen in her daily life.
Co-star Cardellini has been Applegate’s “champion, warrior, and voice.” Applegate said that Cardelini has been really supportive of her during these trying times.
Multiple sclerosis affects a patient’s brain and spinal cord. It can possibly damage the nerves permanently or cause them to deteriorate. There is no cure for the disease, but treatment is available to manage symptoms. Side effects include numbness, tingling, mood changes, memory problems, fatigue, and paralysis, among others.
According to Applegate, she already experienced balance issues during the show’s first season, but she did not address her issues during this time. She said that she has gained 40 pounds and now walks with a cane.
Netflix’s “Dead to Me” is scheduled to be released on November 17.
