Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and US Air Force reportedly raided two homes on November 3, belonging to a man who owns a website dedicated to information about the top secret military base, Area 51. The military base has always been the subject of speculation among the public, with rumors that the base has evidence of extraterrestrial life.
The FBI and the Air Force Office forcefully entered two properties owned by Joey Arnu, who owns Dreamland Resort.com, which posts theories about what happens at the military base, located in the Nevada desert, about 120 miles from Las Vegas.
According to Lt. Col. Bryon McGarry, the Nellis Air Force Base spokesperson, agents raided the two properties in Nevada on November 3 and seized potential evidence. He also said it was an open and ongoing investigation between the Air Force OSI and the FBI division in Las Vegas.
Area 51 has long been a source of speculation because of its top-secret status. Conspiracy theorists have tried to discover more about what goes on at the base and have come up with theories that the government has evidence of alien life hidden at the base.
Arnu launched the Dreamland Resort.com website 23 years ago featuring content like YouTube videos and drone footage from around Area 51. It also features satellite photos of the base and articles about rumored top-secret projects mostly involving UFOs.
Even though his site features many stories that raise the curiosity of conspiracy theorists and other investigators of UFOs, Arnu dismisses reports about UFOs and aliens in the base as false. “The military uses the alien stories to distract people from the real purpose of the base, to me I think they use the base to research and develop all kinds of black projects,” Arnu claims.
This week, Arnu told a reporter he is always cautious about the content he posts on the website and screens everything he posts beforehand, so he doesn’t post anything that is classified.
“I was not given any warning before the agents raided my home. About 15-20 agents dressed in riot gear showed up at our property [and] roughed us up.”
According to Arnu, the agents took him and his girlfriend to the street when she was barefoot and only dressed in her underwear, where the neighbors stood watching, while he was dressed in only a T-shirt and sweats in freezing weather. He says he was roughed up and intimidated.
The agents told him the investigation was related to images he posted on his website, but they did not elaborate further. They did not tell him exactly what they were looking for, and they took his phones, backup drives, memory sticks, drone, and camera equipment. A 40-page search warrant was produced.
Arnu said that people could find everything he publishes on his website on other websites, so he is unsure which images triggered the raids.
Arnu said he is considering taking legal action to get compensated for the damages to his home and get his equipment back.
