Lynisha Hull tearfully spoke to reporters about her baby girl’s big beautiful eyes that lit up the room and how she was full of life.
Her baby’s body was found by the police near the Ocean Boulevard bridge in the Los Angeles River in Long Beach, California.
The suspect in her murder is the child’s father, 22-year-old Jayveyon Burley. It was reported that on Sunday, Burley picked up his children, three-year-old Zayveyon and one-year-old Leilani, who were then staying with their mom Lynisha in Long Beach.
Jayveyon, who was living with his mother in Inglewood, returned home with only one child. The grandmother informed the police that her granddaughter was missing.
Reportedly, the father threw the infant off the bridge.
Lynisha said that Jayveyon was “always overprotective” of his children and that he never hit them before. She was heartbroken and devastated to discover what he did to her daughter. She cannot understand how he could kill his own child.
Lynisha said that no argument happened between them when he picked up the children, but that Jayveyon appeared upset. When he put the children in the car, he didn’t fasten the baby’s seat belt (Lynisha intervened and did it), and he started to drive erratically. After the incident, he refused to tell her where Leilani was and only told her that the girl was okay.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Jayveyon currently faces a count of murder and assault on a child causing death. His bail amounts to more than $2 million. His motive is still being investigated by the police. His arraignment was postponed to January 10, 2023.
The three-year-old keeps asking his mother where his sister is.
