The second part of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary is out, and the couple did not hold back.
In episodes four to six, which streamed on Thursday, December 15, the Duke and Duchess explained why they left the United Kingdom.
Prince Harry said that he believes his wife suffered a miscarriage because of the stress the British tabloids inflicted on her. He shared the press’s impact on Meghan after The Daily Mail printed a reduced version of a private letter that she had written to her estranged father.
According to Harry, Meghan suffered a miscarriage because of what The Daily Mail tabloid did. Although no one could prove that that was the reason for her miscarriage, he was convinced that it was a major contributing factor.
The documentary reveals that while Meghan was trying to deal with the lawsuit against the tabloid, she wasn’t sleeping. Because the pregnancy was only a few weeks old, the additional stress could have caused the miscarriage.
Meghan recalled the moment she miscarried. It was the first morning in their Montecito home, and her friend had come to visit her.
Meghan won the lawsuit against Associated Newspapers in December 2021, and she received a public statement from The Daily Mail which fell short of an apology. Reports indicate that the court determined that Associated Newspapers had infringed on Meghan’s copyright by publishing the private letter in The Daily Mail Online and The Daily Mail, and they made financial remedies.
In November 2020, Meghan revealed that she suffered a miscarriage adding that she was proud she was able to share her story with the world.
The documentary’s second part started its story about Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018. The couple recalled fond memories of the day, like King Charles walking Meghan down the aisle. They shared previously unseen pictures like ones of them cutting their cake with a huge sword and Elton John singing, but the sweet memories soon turned sour.
Prince Harry accused the rest of the family of getting jealous of the couple’s rising popularity before the monarchy started planting negative stories about them to cover up for negative publicity of other members.
Taking a 180-degree turn from the last week’s episodes, Harry put on his boxing gloves and painted an unflattering picture of the royal household. He said that when someone who is marrying into the family and is supposed to provide a supporting role starts to do the job better and steal the attention away, people get upset.
The brutal never-ending attacks by the media, the Palace remaining quiet as the press attacked her, and the increasing suspicions that the media was being fed stories by the royal household, pushed Meghan into a depression, and she even thought about committing suicide.
Prince Harry also targeted his brother Prince William and his father, King Charles, as he recalled how his brother screamed and shouted at him and his father said untrue things. At the same time, the late Queen Elizabeth II sat and watched during a meeting at Sandringham to discuss the couple’s future.
Buckingham Palace refused to comment on the things said in the documentary, and this will make the Sussex’s version of events part of the Palace’s history if they are unchallenged.
