A source close to King Charles III is claiming that even after all of Prince Harry’s accusations and criticism of the royal family, the King is not only willing, but eager to reestablish a relationship with his younger son.

According to The Telegraph, sources close to King Charles insist that he has always said how much he loves both his sons and has kept all communication channels open in the last few years, despite Harry and Meghan’s numerous interviews indicating the contrary.

The 72-year-old King has been in contact with his 38-year-old son. They met several times in 2022.

But Prince Harry keeps talking about feeling betrayed.

The relationship has been strained since Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah, their exit from the UK, and their recent Netflix documentary that unleashed a lot of complaints about the royal family as well as backlash against Harry and Meghan, especially from the Brits and the British media.

But the King says his door is always open for the couple.

Reportedly, the King is still going to invite them to his coronation later this year, and people who are close to the royal family say it is doubtful that King Charles would strip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of their titles.

Prince Harry has a new book coming out – his memoirs – entitled “Spare,” which will be released on January 10 and is sure to stir up more trouble.

Speaking to journalist Tom Bradby ahead of the book release,  Prince Harry said that he would love to have his father and brother back in his life, but they have shown no willingness to reconcile. During an ITV interview, set to be released on Sunday, Harry said he wanted a family, not an institution.

Clips of the interview were released on Monday.

Prince Harry has been doing a lot of speaking lately, and in another interview, also airing on Sunday, he was questioned by Anderson Cooper on the TV show “60 Minutes.” In the released promo clips, Harry tells Cooper that every time he has tried to reconcile with the family in private, there have been leaks, briefings, and planting of stories that negatively portray him and his wife.

Harry says that the royal family motto is “Never complain, never explain,” but says Buckingham Palace has released statements to protect other family members and refuse to protect him and his wife. At some point, their silence became a betrayal, according to Harry.

Harry has been speaking about his strained relationship with his father and brother since leaving the UK.

In December 2022, Netflix released a controversial docuseries about the couple, which detailed their love story and the experiences that led to their decision to leave the UK for the US.

In the documentary, Harry and Meghan talked about how brutal the UK tabloids were towards Meghan, targeting and criticizing her. Harry accused Prince William’s press team of planting and leaking stories to the press about him and his wife to cover up for William and Kate. He also spoke about how they felt betrayed when Buckingham Place refused to put out statements protecting Meghan, but put a statement out to protect William almost immediately after a negative story about him emerged.

Will Harry and the King reconcile? Tune in to the next scheduled interviews to find out
