After an argument with a stranger on Valentine’s Day, a South Carolina mother was shot and killed in a supermarket parking lot.
Tyler Borys told FOX 57 Columbia that his 26-year-old wife, Alexandria Cress Borys, was arguing with a stranger while loading groceries into her car at the Kroger in Irmo, South Carolina.
The stranger, identified by police as 23-year-old Christina Harrison, pulled out a firearm and shot Alexandria in the back. Tyler reported that she was murdered while their two-year-old and infant were in the car.
According to the Irmo Police Department, Alexandria was pronounced dead as soon as officers arrived at the site at 4:00 p.m. on February 14.
After trying to escape the crime site, Christina Harrison called the police around 90 minutes later to report her location. After interrogating witnesses, investigators determined that Harrison and Borys had a dispute involving “the right of way.” Witnesses said that the victim spit at her attacker during the argument.
Chief of Police in Irmo, South Carolina, Bobby Dale, stated on Facebook that this was a situation in which anger got the best of someone. Two families, as well as a large number of bystanders, were negatively affected by a single irresponsible act. He stated that the only term that comes to mind to characterize the events of that day is “senseless.”
Harrison was booked into the Lexington County Correctional Facility on Tuesday night. She is accused of murder, carrying a firearm without a license, and having a firearm while conducting a violent felony, according to jail records.
Alexandria was enrolled in nursing school while working as a cosmetologist.
To add fuel to the flames, Borys was shot and killed barely six days after her brother was killed by gunfire.
