A mother of three in Florida was killed in a murder-suicide committed by her estranged husband. Two of the children were shared by the mom and the killer.
Three children lost their mother in the terrible incident on January 20 in Palm Beach County.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Brittany Carter, 34, dead at her house in Wellington, Florida with a gunshot wound
Carter had just the day before been hired as a real estate agent. Her new boss described Carter as “intelligent, charismatic and energetic.”
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a home in the Olympia community at around 5 pm on January 20 and found the man and a woman dead from gunshot wounds.
The 34-year-old mother of one girl and two boys was shot and killed by her partner, Stephen P. Smith, 45, before he turned the gun on himself.
Friends recalled that the mother of three had big blue eyes and a huge smile to match her personality, which they described as “vibrant and fierce.”
According to those in attendance to remember her, Carter loved her children and her role as a mom. Framed photos of her with her kids were displayed, with a sign in block letters reading “MOM.”
