Whoopi Goldberg, a well-known actress and co-host of “The View,” laughed at Republican and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley’s major announcement on Tuesday that she will be seeking the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.
A video advertisement from Haley’s new presidential campaign was broadcast during a part of the program, and Whoopi was not having any of it.
She attacked Haley for refusing to acknowledge that the US was not the best country in the world and was not flawless and claimed that she was unable to tell right from wrong.
Haley’s remarks clearly shocked Goldberg, who spoke directly to her on the show, telling her that it appeared she had been sleeping and had just discovered that many things in the US were not ideal. Goldberg argued that Haley’s desire that people pretend that everything in the nation is fine and that nothing negative has occurred is absurd and added that the politician was not conveying any novel ideas to the electorate.
Goldberg persisted in criticizing Haley, saying that she ought to be the one to know better given that she formerly had some sense and could distinguish between right and wrong. Nevertheless, at some time, Haley lost her mind and changed her course.
The ad said that Haley’s Indian-born parents constantly reminded her of how fortunate they were to be in America, how admirable the nation’s fundamental ideals were, and how the promise of freedom was not a myth.
She also criticized everyone who said she called American ideas “evil and racist,” claiming that this was untrue.
Haley responded to Goldberg’s remarks on social media, tweeting that the idea of her running for the nation’s highest position makes liberals’ heads explode.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, Goldberg’s co-host, defended Haley’s choice, claiming that she was the most qualified Republican to run for president.
Griffin stated she was thrilled for Haley to run against Trump, believing Haley was a better candidate than the previous president, despite the other co-host’s opposition to her backing.
Griffin claimed to have seen Haley battling dictators at the UN and claimed that she was the sharpest person in every room they had shared.
Griffin continued to endorse the Republican, saying that Haley was someone in whom she could have faith and that she represented a significant improvement over Donald Trump, despite Goldberg’s laughter at her comments.
After Donald Trump, Haley is the second Republican to declare their intention to run for president in 2024.
