Following “that” viral moment at the Grammys in which actor Ben Affleck appeared annoyed with his wife and bored with the ceremony, Affleck has now revealed what his wife Jennifer Lopez said to him that made headlines on social media.
Jennifer Lopez appeared to snap at Affleck in a viral video, but he later told The Hollywood Reporter that he had a great time at the event.
Affleck told the interviewer that he didn’t mind the meme of his face and that he had fun at the Grammys.
He noticed the host, comedian Trevor Noah, walking over to their table during the show. He didn’t realize the crew had already assembled, so he leaned in close to Lopez and told her he was going to slip away and leave Lopez and Noah alone once the cameras started rolling.
Lopez was noticeably upset after hearing what he said and whispered in his ear, “You better f***ing not leave.” This was just a husband and wife thing between the married couple, according to Affleck.
The meme of his seemingly annoyed face, that was all over social media and the internet, perplexed Affleck because it gave the impression that he was intoxicated, bored, or irritated at the event. He found it odd that no one had ever accused him of being drunk at previous events where he had actually been drinking.
Since the year 2020, Affleck, an alcoholic in recovery, has been clean and sober. But he said he was fine with being the “poster boy” for actor alcoholism, and he appreciated the numerous phone calls from substance abusers seeking help.
Lopez took to Instagram shortly after the Grammys to make fun of her husband and promote his new film, “Air.” Affleck co-stars with Viola Davis and Matt Damon in the movie about how Nike signed Michael Jordan and created the wildly popular Air Jordan sneakers. Next month, the highly anticipated film, for which he also served as director and producer, will be released.
The Grammy meme helped promote his new film, which is fine with Affleck.
