Well-known actress Cameron Diaz, after her recent comeback, decided to no longer appear in films and is reportedly planning to retire from the industry once more.
The award-winning actress has announced that she will retire permanently after finishing filming for the upcoming Netflix film “Back in Action,” starring Jamie Foxx, so she can devote her full attention to being a mother and wife.
According to a source close to the actress, the back-to-back 10-hour shooting work days have taken their toll on Diaz, who has been away from her three-year-old daughter, Raddix, and that the actress loves being a mother more than anything else.
Diaz’s husband, Benji Madden, has been very supportive of her comeback to acting, according to the source, but her time working and away from them has been taxing on him as well.
Diaz’s family has visited her on set while filming, but she would rather be home.
Madden, 44, and Diaz, 50, married in 2015 and welcomed their first child, Raddix, in 2019. Diaz announced her retirement from acting a year before Raddix was born.
The actress, however, surprised her fans when she announced her return to the filmmaking industry to star along with Academy Award-Winning actor Jamie Foxx, 55, in a Netflix comedy film scheduled for release in 2024. She had worked with him before.
The film has suffered some controversy after Foxx allegedly threw a temper tantrum on the movie set and fired an executive producer, his driver, and two directors.
Diaz did not appear to be affected by the drama, and she is reportedly still on good terms with Foxx, and sources say his tantrum had nothing to do with her decision to retire for good after the film.
The source defended Foxx’s actions, saying that when someone is in a position of authority, they sometimes have to decide whether or not to fire people who do not share their artistic vision, and that they would be surprised if the meltdown caused any tension between Diaz and Foxx.
Diaz understands the business they’re in, according to the source, and Foxx was the only reason she came out of retirement, adding that the two were still good friends.
Diaz’s last film with Foxx was “Annie,” which she co-starred in before retiring.
Instead of the drama on the movie set, Diaz is lovingly choosing the drama at home.
