When news of actor Lance Reddick’s death broke on March 17, Hollywood was stunned. He died far too young, at the age of 60. Despite the fact that Reddick was not a major star, the actor appeared to have fans all over the entertainment industry. He had also made many friends, including Keanu Reeves, who is clearly heartbroken by his death.
Reeves described Reddick as a lovely and gracious individual, an artist full of dignity and a great passion for acting, in an interview with Deadline.com. He stated that having worked with the actor for over ten years and four films means a lot to him.
Reeves paid tribute to his close friend following the release of “John Wick: Chapter 4,” the latest film in the franchise in which Reddick starred. Reeves, 58, wore a navy-blue shirt underneath a black suit with a matching tie. He wore a blue ribbon on his lapel in memory of Lance Reddick.
Reddick was best known for his roles in “The Wire,” “Fringe,” “Bosch,” “Oz,” “White House Down,” “Godzilla vs. Kong,” and “Lost,” as well as the four “John Wick” films.
His publicist, Mia Hansen, told The Associated Press that he died unexpectedly on Friday morning from natural causes.
When the news of Lance Reddick’s death broke on Friday, Reeves and “John Wick” director Chad Stahelski issued a joint statement to Deadline expressing their “deep sorrow and heartbreak” at the loss of a friend and colleague who was dear to them. They said he was always a professional at his job and a joy to work with. They went on to say that his wife, Stephanie, children, family, and friends are all in their thoughts and prayers and that he will be missed by everyone who knew him. They plan to dedicate the film to Reddick in his memory.
The fourth installment in the successful franchise, which stars Reddick as Charon, a concierge at the Continental Hotel and Wick’s close friend, hits theaters on March 24, 2023.
