A man stabbed another man over 30 times on a bus in Las Vegas, and despite the victim’s cries for help, the bus driver continued to drive and refused to stop.

Dominique Lucas, 30, was stabbed to death after an argument on an RTC bus on February 26. Aaron Cole, 59, was arrested and charged with the crime.

A Clark County grand jury was shown the disturbing surveillance footage, which showed the two men sitting close to each other before they began to argue.

Lucas tells Cole that he isn’t bothering him. Lucas walks to the front of the bus and motions for the driver to open the doors so he can get off, appearing threatened by the situation and hoping to avoid it worsening.

The bus, however, does not come to a halt; instead, the driver continues on his way. Cole approaches Lucas and stabs him repeatedly. Even as Cole continues to stab the screaming passenger, the driver does not stop.

The heinous assault lasts about four minutes. The bus doors open for a brief moment before closing again.

The bus driver asks Lucas, who has already been stabbed several times, if he wants to get off. Cole resumes his attack on Lucas.

According to police, the attack began at 4:50 p.m. and the bus came to a halt five minutes later. The police arrived at 4:58 p.m. after the driver and passengers fled.

Lucas died as a result of his injuries after stumbling off the bus. Cole remained seated on the bus.

The bus driver claimed that he did not open the doors because he was in the middle of the road and unable to stop the bus or get up to assist the victim.

The bus driver’s employer, Keolis North America, claimed that the driver didn’t open the doors to avoid a passenger colliding with oncoming traffic.

Cole had been arrested for an unrelated assault just ten days before the stabbing.
