Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban treated photographers to a public display of affection on the red carpet during the 2023 Oscars. 

The couple, who married in 2006, posed for photos and delighted fans. They took some private time and exchanged a passionate kiss, with Kidman affectionately placing her palm on her husband’s cheek. 

Among the numerous comments posted on social media following their kiss, some fans found it adorable, while others thought it was rather awkward for them to be kissing in public.

“We should all have someone who looks at us like Keith and Nicole,” one commenter joked.

The Grammy-winning country singer and “Roar” actress both wore all-black ensembles to the glitzy event. Nicole looked stunning in a breathtaking one-sleeve black sequin gown with huge flower accents on the hip and shoulder. She accessorized her Armani Privé thigh-high slit gown with diamond jewelry and black shoes. She kept her signature long, flowing hairstyle.

Kidman was honored to be a presenter at Hollywood’s most prestigious event. She has received five Oscar nominations since 2002, most recently for the film “Being the Ricardos” in 2022, and she won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in “The Hours” in 2003.

Kidman stated that her favorite part of the night was socializing and meeting her fellow actors. On stage, Kidman and actor Idris Elba presented the Best Director award. She stated that seeing so many people she admires and loves in one evening is unusual for her. Kidman also stated that she enjoys being able to tell someone how much she appreciates their work while holding their hand and looking them in the eyes, and she had the opportunity to do so with many celebrities during the evening.

Despite the fact that his film “Top Gun: Maverick” was nominated for Best Picture, Nicole’s ex-husband, Tom Cruise, was not present at the ceremony. While media outlets claimed that Cruise made every effort to avoid running into his ex-wife Kidman, insiders close to Cruise claimed that he missed the Oscars due to scheduling conflicts and that his decision was not personal.
