A section of American voters think that both Hunter Biden and former President Donald Trump did something illegal, as they both face legal battles and congressional investigations, according to a new poll.
The new survey conducted by Fox News was released on Wednesday, March 29, and included interviews with 1,007 registered voters across the country.
According to Fox News, the voters were randomly selected and spoke with interviewers on cell phones or landlines.
When asked what they thought about Hunter Biden’s business dealings in China and Ukraine, 43% of the voters thought Joe Biden’s son did something illegal, 6% up from the 37% who thought that in February.
According to the outlet, the voters most likely to think Hunter Biden did something illegal were Independents, who were up 12% since February, women who went up 8%, liberals who went up 9%, and Democrats, up by 7%.
Overall, a third of the voters in the poll believe that Hunter Biden did something unethical but not illegal, while 19% said he did not do anything seriously wrong.
When asked about President Biden’s involvement in his son’s dealings, 36% of voters said he did something wrong. 28% believe that the president did something unethical but did not break the law, while 31% of voters said he did nothing wrong.
Those numbers were practically unchanged from how voters felt in a poll done by the station in December 2022.
Switching to Trump’s legal battles on alleged campaign finance violations, 45% of voters think the former president did something unlawful. 27% think he did something unethical but not against the law, and 25% think Trump did nothing wrong.
The poll results came just a day before the Manhattan grand jury indicted Trump, as he predicted on Truth Social a week ago.
