On Monday, March 27, a 25-year-old woman, who still had shackles and handcuffs on her arms and legs, showed up at a Staten Island police station reporting the terror she had experienced. She managed to escape a converted bus where she had been repeatedly raped and beaten after nine hours of captivity.

The suspect in the alleged rape has been identified as 30-year-old Staten Island resident Alexander Isaac.

Along with Isaac, another man and his two children were discovered in the converted bus. The other man was arrested for endangering the children’s welfare, and the children were sent to be evaluated for their safety.

In addition to being handcuffed and shackled, the victim stated that Isaac had placed a shirt around her mouth and raped her. She alleges she was punched, thrown against the wall, and beat with a belt.

The New York Police Department immediately went to the parking lot on Central Avenue that was identified by the victim, and discovered two vehicles owned by the suspect. Inside the converted bus they discovered a pipe bomb, chemicals, a 3D printer, and a portion of a Glock pistol print. They were classified as “suspicious materials” by the police.

According to his neighbors, the suspect was a “quiet man” who did not talk to anyone. The relationship between the rape victim and the suspect is unknown.

On Tuesday, Isaac was arrested, and on Wednesday, he was arraigned. He was charged with rape, criminal sex acts, unlawful imprisonment, criminal possession of a weapon, and kidnapping. The bail amount was set at $200,000 in cash or $700,000 in bond. Online records also show that an order of protection was issued.
