The ex-wife of a contestant from the famed television show Family Feud had reportedly expressed concerns about her safety before she was tragically murdered.
The suspect, Timothy W. Bliefnick, 39, is facing charges for allegedly killing his estranged spouse, Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, in her home in Quincy, Illinois. The pair were in the process of a divorce at the time.
Bliefnick has been indicted on charges of first-degree murder and home invasion and has entered a plea of not guilty. During the ongoing court proceedings, witnesses for the prosecution, such as Rebecca’s sibling Sarah Reilly, provided testimonies to help clarify the situation around her untimely death.
Sarah Reilly shared that her sister had previously confided in her about fears of potential harm from her husband. Reilly noted that Rebecca had texted her in September 2021, expressing fear and indicating that Timothy should be considered a suspect if anything happened to her.
Additionally, the prosecution presented evidence suggesting Timothy Bliefnick had performed troubling internet searches around the time of Rebecca’s alleged murder. The searches pertained to opening a window with a crowbar, constructing a homemade silencer, and local police response times.
On February 23, Rebecca’s body was found on her bathroom floor by her father, William Postle, after she did not pick up her three children from school. Timothy Bliefnick was charged with her murder roughly two weeks later.
Prosecutors believe Timothy used a crowbar to forcefully enter Rebecca’s upstairs bedroom before shooting her multiple times.
Timothy Bliefnick, along with various family members, had previously participated on the game show Family Feud. In a 2020 episode, when host Steve Harvey asked him about his biggest wedding mistake, he humorously responded, “Honey, I love you, but, ‘Said I do.'”
