Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, received a staggering $100 million job offer from Valuetainment Television on May 2, 2023. The deal includes $100 million over five years, ownership shares, the company’s presidency, and a significant role in decision-making. This offer is a major step up from his previous contract; however, it encounters a significant issue as Carlson is still technically under contract with Fox News, and his popular news program episodes are part of their archive.
Throughout his time at Fox, Carlson has built a dedicated fan base and become one of the most influential voices in news media.
Patrick Bet-David, Valuetainment Television’s President, publicly invited the renowned conservative commentator to join their team in an open letter on Twitter. The offer comprises a podcast, weekly or daily programming, and movies and documentaries.
During his appearance on Megyn Kelly’s podcast, Bet-David justified the $100 million offer, stating that Carlson’s voice is among the most crucial in the nation and Valuetainment is the perfect platform for him. While acknowledging that other media companies courting Carlson were larger, Bet-David argued that they weren’t necessarily better. He highlighted his company’s vision, cause, and genuine belief in America’s greatness.
Valuetainment’s statement emphasized that their platform would enable Carlson to speak openly and honestly, with millions of YouTube subscribers and over 10 million followers on other social media channels.
Since leaving Fox News, several media companies, including One America News and The Heritage Foundation, have shown interest in hiring Carlson. Newsmax even offered him control over his show’s programming.
