Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s ongoing legal battles following their divorce have taken a tumultuous turn concerning their Château Miraval winery. 

Once envisioned as their forever home, the property became a nightmare after their separation in 2016.

Both parties have filed lawsuits against each other, with Jolie alleging “alcohol abuse and financial control,” while Pitt claims “vengeance and retribution.” 

Initially, the purchase of Château Miraval was driven by love and the desire for a sanctuary away from the spotlight of Hollywood, where Pitt hoped their six children could enjoy freedom. 

However, five years after their split, just before Jolie sold her share to a Russian company, the Stoli Group, she sent an emotional email to Pitt, revealing the difficulties she faced behind the scenes. 

Jolie expressed her deep attachment to the property as the place they brought their twins home to, where they got married over a plaque in her mother’s memory. She lamented that it was also the place where she believed they would grow old, but ultimately became the catalyst for the breakdown of their family.

For Jolie, the winery represented a grounding haven for their family, while for Pitt, it was a significant investment intertwined with his passion for winemaking. Unfortunately, it eventually became a symbol of their marital downfall, entangled in a web of legal complexities and documents.
