Famous singer/actress, Madonna, 64, was admitted to a New York City hospital on Saturday night, June 24, after being found unresponsive.
According to sources, she was intubated for at least one night but has since regained consciousness and is now on the road to recovery.
Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, confirmed the incident and provided an update via an Instagram statement, revealing that the singer had developed a serious bacterial infection requiring her to spend several days in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Madonna was discharged from the hospital on Thursday, June 29, and her manager expressed optimism for her recovery. However, all of Madonna’s upcoming commitments, including her “Celebration” tour set to begin on July 15 in Vancouver, are on hold. The tour, intended to commemorate her 40-year music career, was scheduled to cover 43 cities worldwide through January 2024.
Oseary indicated that the tour is postponed indefinitely, and any information regarding rescheduled shows will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
The singer originally planned the tour as a homage to New York City, where her music career first blossomed. Further details about Madonna’s infection and hospitalization have not yet been disclosed.
