An 18-year-old woman was shot while six others sustained injuries during a shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, June 11. 

The incident took place at a home on Sunset Lane in Antioch, located in California’s Bay Area. According to authorities, the violence erupted at a birthday party for a 19-year-old man when uninvited guests made an appearance.

Seven individuals were hit by gunfire in total. While one victim succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, officials believe the remaining victims are likely to recover.

In a statement, the Antioch Police Department confirmed that the shooting happened during the party when the uninvited guests arrived. The sudden development sent attendees scattering in multiple directions, including into the nearby neighborhood. Several wounded individuals made their way to local hospitals on their own.

Footage from the scene shows law enforcement collecting shell casings and medical staff wheeling a stretcher out of the home. The aftermath revealed a scene littered with cups and cans.

A local resident described the aftermath as chaotic, with people hiding behind bushes and displaying signs of panic. 

As of now, the Antioch police have not released any information about potential suspects or persons of interest. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
