Former President Donald Trump has announced that his daughter, Ivanka Trump, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will not be part of his administration if he is elected for a second term, citing the experience as being “too painful.”

Trump, who is a candidate in the 2024 Presidential race, revealed this in an interview with The New York Post on June 19, 2023.

During his first term in office, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were influential advisors, playing significant roles in both domestic and foreign policy matters. However, Trump said that he does not want them to endure the intense scrutiny and criticism they faced before. He mentioned that it was very hard for him to see them being attacked and feels it would be better for them not to be part of his potential second term.

The former President added that he believes his daughter and son-in-law did an incredible job during his first term. He praised Kushner for his efforts in the Middle East, describing them as “fantastic.”

The decision has elicited mixed reactions from political analysts. Some believe that Ivanka and Kushner’s absence could alter the dynamic and decision-making processes in a potential second Trump administration. Others perceive it as a move to shield his family from the pressure and harsh criticism that comes with holding positions of power.

It is worth noting that since leaving the White House, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have maintained a low profile and have primarily focused on their business endeavors.

This development signals a shift in the structure that might be seen in Donald Trump’s potential second-term cabinet and inner circle.
