A driver lost her life when her SUV got too close to a tractor-trailer carrying loads of logs, resulting in the logs being propelled off the trailer and onto the woman’s vehicle, causing significant damage.

The victim, a 25-year-old woman from Fernandina Beach, Florida, succumbed to her injuries following the accident. The authorities have decided to keep her identity undisclosed at this stage.

The fatal incident occurred around 12:45 am on Tuesday, July 18, in Yulee, a community situated roughly 24 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida. According to details released by the Highway Patrol, the woman was journeying east on Buccaneer Trail (State Road 200) when her SUV came into close proximity with a semi-tractor truck transporting a trailer filled with logs.

Based on initial findings, the SUV failed to maintain a safe distance, causing it to collide with the logs near the intersection of Buccaneer Trail and Felmor Road. The force of the impact dislodged the logs off the trailer, leading to severe damage to the woman’s car.

Emergency services responded to the incident and transported the victim to a Jacksonville hospital, where she was unfortunately declared dead upon arrival.

The 28-year-old male truck driver involved in the collision was unharmed.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
