A well-known French daredevil met his end in Hong Kong while performing a stunt in a high-rise building.
Remi Lucidi, 30, popularly known as Remi Enigma, fell from the 68th floor of the Tregunter Tower complex in Hong Kong while attempting a daring climb, according to reports.
Lucidi’s adventure began around 6 pm when he arrived at the building, claiming to be visiting a friend on the 40th floor. However, suspicions were raised when the alleged friend denied knowing him. Despite a security officer’s attempt to block him, Lucidi managed to access an elevator. Security footage later captured him on the 49th floor, from where he was seen ascending the stairs towards the building’s rooftop.
Lucidi’s life tragically ended at around 7:38 pm when he was observed tapping on the window of the complex’s penthouse. A maid spotted him and alerted the police. Investigators believe that he may have been trapped outside the penthouse and seeking help before his fatal fall.
Police discovered Lucidi’s camera at the scene, which contained footage of his other daring stunts. The official cause of his death is yet to be released.
Those familiar with Lucidi described him as a friendly and humble person. A hostel worker recalled his vacation plans, mentioning that he had intended to hike up a mountain during his stay in Hong Kong.
The extreme sports community mourns the loss of their fellow adventurer, with fans posting tributes online.
