A police pursuit in Alabama concluded when a stolen vehicle collided with another car, revealing an unusual conclusion.
It was discovered that the driver was a child of merely eight years old, according to the police.
Officers from the Montgomery Police Department embarked on an unexpected pursuit on July 11, around 11 am. They had responded to a vehicle theft report and tried to intercept the stolen car, only to face resistance from the child behind the wheel, as detailed by Major Saba Coleman.
The pursuit was short-lived, ending in an intersection where the stolen vehicle collided with another car. Major Coleman reported that the incident had caused no harm or injuries.
The stolen car revealed another surprising find – a weapon was discovered inside.
The pursuit was followed by an eyewitness, “Snake” Knapp, who was in contact with the police throughout the chase. Knapp said, “When I realized it was a little boy, I had to make sure he was apprehended without causing further accidents or injuring himself or others. Knapp told WSFA news that the boy also picked up two adult passengers on Norman Bridge Road.
As for the young driver, he was taken to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility and charged with first-degree robbery, attempting to elude and as a certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.
