A man in Tulsa, Oklahoma allegedly committed a triple homicide, leaving three women dead, including his ex-girlfriend, and injuring a baby who survived.

Law enforcement received reports of a triple homicide around 6:30 am, July 24, with the crime scene located near Garnett Road and I-244.

The victims have been identified as Ashley Atwell, 38, Annaway Mackey, 20, and Sarah Gonzales, 19.

Ashley Atwell, who had broken up with Caleb Venson more than a year ago, had expressed concerns about his behavior to her sister, Jennifer Atwell. Despite the breakup, Venson had moved into an apartment just across the street.

However, Ashley’s fears materialized that morning.

According to police, Venson forcibly entered the apartment by shooting out a sliding glass door.

Inside the home, Venson confronted his ex-girlfriend, who was cradling their baby in her arms. He allegedly shot her, inadvertently injuring the infant. Venson is also accused of taking the lives of Annaway Mackey and Sarah Gonzales, who were present in the apartment.

Despite the ordeal, the injured baby was found alive on the ground next to one of the deceased women. Prompt actions by the police ensured the child received medical attention in time. The infant underwent surgery and is expected to recover.

A 13-year-old boy, who also lived in the apartment, managed to escape Venson’s assault unharmed. The boy reported that Venson forced him out of his room.

Venson surrendered to officers just before 8 a.m. that day.

The suspect faces three counts of first-degree murder, along with charges of first-degree burglary and shooting with intent to kill.
