A 27-year-old mother tragically lost her life after being accidentally run over by a lawnmower while lying in an area of tall grass at Beard Brook Park in Modesto, California, on July 8. 

The accident occurred when a landscaping employee, operating a John Deere with a pull-behind mower, unintentionally drove over the victim, Christine Chavez. The tragic incident was only discovered when the operator found her clothes and parts of her body scattered on the ground after the incident.

Christopher Chavez, the father of the deceased, arrived at the scene to find a distressing sight. Shocked by the horrifying scene, he immediately contacted the police.

This devastating incident has left the family and community in profound sorrow. 

The victim was homeless at the time of her death and leaves behind a nine-year-old daughter who is being cared for by family members.
