The latest lawsuit faced by Bill Cosby is from singer Morganne Picard, who accuses him of drugging and raping her during the late 1980s.
Documents reveal that in 1987, Cosby invited Picard, then an aspiring musician, to the set of The Cosby Show. In the years that followed, until 1990, Picard claims that Cosby gave her beverages on several occasions which resulted in severe intoxication. She recounts an episode at Cosby’s home where she later awoke in a hotel room, disoriented and in pain.
The lawsuit contends that Cosby took advantage of Picard’s vulnerable state sexually. Additionally, entities including Kaufman Astoria Studios, Astoria Studios LP II, the Carsey-Warner Company, and NBCUniversal are also named in the lawsuit for alleged negligence.
The lawsuit is filed under the Adult Survivors Act, which will remain in effect until Thanksgiving 2024.
Bill Cosby, who faced a conviction in 2018 but was released from prison in 2021, has refuted all such allegations. He has been accused by multiple other women of similar actions.
