The official website of the royal family has revised Prince Harry’s title, removing the term “His Royal Highness.”
This alteration was initially reported by Express, which noted the title’s presence on Friday, followed by its subsequent removal. The changes were evident in sections that discussed Prince Harry’s 2016 HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns. “His Royal Highness” has been swapped with “the Duke” or “the Duke of Sussex.” Prince Harry received his dukedom in May 2018.
Buckingham Palace mentioned that some parts of the royal website still have outdated content, including references to Queen Elizabeth’s status. They are in the process of updating the content following the Queen’s death.
The issue of titles for Prince Harry and Meghan was addressed in 2020 when they decided to step back from royal duties. They would not use the HRH titles, but would be recognized as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Currently residing in California, they often use the names “Harry” and “Meghan.”
Prince Harry’s place in the line of succession remains unaltered. He remains 5th in line to the throne, after his brother Prince William and William and Kate’s children.
Following King Charles’s coronation, titles for Archie and Lilibet, their offspring, were updated. As of March, they are referred to as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet on the palace website.
