Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were allegedly excluded from the Royal Family’s gathering commemorating the one year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
The event, planned for September 8 at Balmoral Castle, coincides with the couple’s commitment to the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany, the following day.
Sources suggest that the couple hasn’t received any communication regarding the event, highlighting the apparent split between the Sussexes and the Royal Family. Their participation in the Invictus Games will be their first European engagement since attending the Queen’s funeral last year.
The Royal Family seems to have opted for a smaller, more personal gathering, and despite King Charles’ initial inclination to invite them, the final list was more exclusive.
Prince Andrew, who has faced his share of controversies, is expected to be present at the gathering, alongside his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
The Sussexes’ decision to relinquish their senior royal roles and move to Montecito, California, marked the beginning of a series of events that strained their relationship with the Royal Family. Their involvement in various high-profile endeavors, including a revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, added to the tension.
Harry’s controversial memoir, “Spare,” further complicated matters, with Harry making several unflattering claims against his family. The upcoming Balmoral event and the Sussexes’ absence, including their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet Diana, highlight the intricate dynamics within the royal family.
